Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive Vientiane
On arrival at Vientiane airport, meet your tour representative and transfer to your accommodation. Vientiane is the capital city and sits on a bend of the Mekong River amidst fertile plains. It has a casual atmosphere with interesting temples and lively markets. Sights of Vientiane include many important national monuments and the morning market - actually open all day, offering a wide range of fabrics, jewelry and electronic goods. Day 2 Vientiane/Luang Prabang
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Luang Prabang, the ancient capital city of the Lan Xang Kingdom. The city is famous for its historic temples and beautiful mountain setting. In 1995, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit some of the prominent wats, including one of the most beautiful monasteries of the area which represents the typical Lao art style, and a wat which is located in a 100meter deep limestone cave. Day 3 Luang Prabang/Vientiane
Travel by boat to the Pak Ou Caves, two caves full of Buddha images of varying styles, ages and sizes, located on the steep rock cliff where the Mekong River meets the Ou River. Return to Luang Prabang to fly back to Vientiane. Accommodation, 1 night: (B,L)
