Day 1 Depart USA
Fly overnight aboard your choice of quality airlines
to China.
Day 2 Shanghai
Landing in Shanghai, "where East meets West",
you are met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3 Shanghai
Tour Shanghaišs premier sights: the traditional Yuyuan
Garden, waterfront Bund, acclaimed Museum,
and charming Children's Palace. (B,L)
Day 4
Shanghai/Beijing
Fly to Beijing, a world class capital with an incredible
mix of historic and modern landmarks. (B,L)
Day 5 Beijing
Tour the landmarks of imperial Beijing: the Forbidden
City, closed to the public for 500 years;
the Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace. (B,L)
Day 6 Beijing
Today's tour showcases the Great Wall, built entirely
by hand; and the Ming Tombs, before a gourmet
Peking Duck dinner in Beijing. (B,L,SD)
Day 7 Beijing/Chongqing
Travel by air to the heart of Sichuan. Tour Chongqing if time permits,
before boarding your cruiser. Settle into your outside stateroom, then
meet your American crew at a welcome reception and briefing. (B,L,D)
Day 8 Yangtze River Cruise
Begin sailing along one of the finest stretches of
river scenery in the world. Enjoy your shipšs
fine facilities as you sail to Fengdu, a folkloric
"ghost city" or visit Wanxian. (B,L,D)
Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise
Enter the first of the great Three Gorges, Qutang,
embraced by soaring peaks blanketed with
mist and greenery. Sail to the Daning River for
a boat cruise through the Three Small Gorges,
a lush unspoiled passage with exotic birds
and monkeys or Shennong Stream. (B,L,D)
Day 10 Yangtze River Cruise
A thrilling final day of cruising, as you traverse Xiling
Gorge and visit the new Three Gorges
Dam site, the largest construction project

Day 11 Wuhan/Xian
Disembark in Wuhan and fly to historic Xian. (B,L)
Day 12 Xian
Tour one of the great discoveries of our era, Xian's
ancient army of terr cotta soldiers. Also explore
the Provincial Museum, the landmark Big
Wild Goose Pagoda, and Ming-era City Gate. This
evening enjoy a fine banquet and stage show
at the Tang Dynasty Theater. (B,L,SD)
Day 13 Xian/Guilin
Fly to Chinašs most scenic city. Best known for
its immortal stone mountains, Guilin also is
noted for fantastic caves, and this afternoon youšll
explore the finest, Reed Flute, full of oddities
and historic treasures. (B,L)
Day 14 Guilin
Today, cruise in air-conditioned comfort on the Li
River, where every turn offers breathtaking new
views of vertical peaks, weathered stone pinnacles,
caverns, soft bamboo groves, and other
pastoral landscapes that have inspired so
much Chinese art and poetry. Dinner and a

Day 15 Guilin/Guangzhou/Hong Kong
Fly to Guangzhou, the fabled city of Canton. If
time allows, tour the tropical delta scenery and
commercial districts, before continuing by
jetfoil to glittering Hong Kong. (B,L)
Day 16 Hong Kong
Tour Hong Kong Island's old and new sights this
morning, from Victoria Peak's classic tram
and glittering new Tower Complex, to quaint
Aberdeen, Repulse Bay and the teeming markets
of Stanley. (B)
Day 17 Hong Kong
Enjoy and open day so you can shop and explore
