You are greeted on arrival and driven to your modern hotel.

Day 3 Shanghai
Tour Shanghai¹s premier sights: the traditional Yuyuan Garden, waterfront Bund, acclaimed Museum, and charming Children's Palace. (B,L)

Day 4 Shanghai/Beijing
Fly to Beijing, a world class capital with an incredible mix of historic and modern landmarks. (B,L)

Day 5 Beijing
An exciting full-day tour presents the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and Summer Palace, each a showplace of art and history. (B,L)

Day 6 Beijing
Spend the day visiting the awe-inspiring Great Wall and the Ming Tombs before returning to Beijing for a classic Peking Duck dinner. (B,L,SD)

Day 7 Beijing/Wuhan/Yangtze River Cruise
Fly to Wuhan and board your spacious, wellappointed Yangtze cruise ship. Enjoy dinner on board as we depart upriver this evening. (B,L,D)

Day 8 Yangtze River Cruise
Go ashore in Yueyang to visit lush Junshan Island and other highlights. (B,L,D)

Day 9 Yangtze River Cruise
This morning visit the colossal Three Gorges Dam construction site. Then sail through rushing Xiling Gorge and the towering cliffs of Wu Gorge. Dock for the night in the bustling market town of Wushan. (B,L,D)

Day 10 Yangtze River Cruise
A day of incomparable scenery begins with boating up the Daning River to the Three Small Gorges, or sail through the beautiful Shennong Stream, then sailing through Qutang Gorge. (B,L,D)

Day 11 Yangtze River Cruise
Today visit Fengdu "ghost town" or the Sichuan markets of Wanxian. (B,L,D)

Day 12 Chongqing/Dazu/Chongqing
Dock at Chongqing and drive to Dazu, home to one of the greatest Buddhist sculptural collections known to exist in China. Explore the story-telling carvings in grottoes and cliffs of the Dazu countryside. (B,L,D)

Day 13 Chongqing/Xian
Return to Chongqing and fly to Xian. (B,L)

Day 14 Xian
Today view the ancient terra cotta warrior and horse excavation site, New Provincial Museum, historic City Gate and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Conclude the day with a fine banquet and stage show at the Tang Dynasty Theater. (B,L,SD)

Day 15 Xian/Guilin
Fly to the immortal scenery of Guilin, and tour the Reed Flute Cave. (B,L)

Day 16 Guilin
Today, cruise in air-conditioned comfort on the Li River, where every turn offers breathtaking new views of vertical peaks, weathered stone pinnacles, caverns, soft bamboo groves, and other pastoral landscapes that have inspired so much Chinese art and poetry. This evening enjoy a dinner and a distinctive cultural show. (B,L,SD)

Day 17 Guilin/Guangzhou/Hong Kong
Fly to Guangzhou, the fabled city of Canton. If time allows, tour the tropical delta scenery and commercial districts, before continuing by jetfoil to glittering Hong Kong. (B,L)

Day 18 Hong Kong
Tour Hong Kong Island's old and new sights this morning, from Victoria Peak's classic tram and glittering new Tower Complex, to quaint Aberdeen, Repulse Bay and the teeming markets of Stanley. (B)

Day 19 Hong Kong
You have a full day on your own to explore this dynamic city. (B)

Day 20 Hong Kong/USA
