Day 1 Arrive Beijing
Arrive Beijing, a world class capital with an amazing mix of historical and modern landmarks. You will be met and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation, 3 nights:

Day 2 Beijing
Walk in the steps of ancient emperors today as you tour the powerful Forbidden City, hidden from public view for over 500 years; and the masterpiece Temple of Heaven, the embodiment of grace and harmony. Enjoy glorious aerial views during lunch at the fine revolving restaurant, before continuing to the Summer Palace, now a favorite recreational spot for locals. The pomp and grandeur of imperial China lives on in these historic landmarks so integral to the nation's soul. (B,L)

Day 3 Beijing
A walk along the Great Wall of China ranks high on the wish list of many travelers and today's excursion will confirm it is one of the world's great travel experiences. Time is given to stroll along its ancient stone promenade - linger at the towers and broad promenades, and view some spectacular scenery. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant you will be driven to the Ming Tombs along the Sacred Way. Returning to the city, you will also visit the Beijing Cloisonne Factory, famous for traditional enamelware. (B,L)

Day 4 Beijing/Xian
Transfer to Beijing airport for your flight to Xian, starting point of the ancient Silk Road to the Mediterranean. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation 2 nights: (B)

Day 5 Xian
Explore Xian's outstanding antiquities on today's tour, highlighted by the great archaeological find of our time, the lifelike ancient terracotta soldiers guarding the tomb of China's first emperor. Also trace the beginnings of Chinese civilization at the Provincial Museum, and tour the City Gate and Big Wild Goose Pagoda (B,L)

Day 6 Xian/Guilin
Transfer to Xian airport for your flight to Guilin, known for the immortal scenery. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation, 2 nights: (B)

Day 7 Guilin
Depart your hotel for Zhujiang pier where you will board the vessel for your Li River cruise. Today's cruise on the mirror like waters of the Li River offers poetic scenery of misty pinnacles, gentle green riverbanks and quiet river activities. Throughout the journey your guide will point out landmarks and attractions. Lunch will be served on board. You will disembark at Yangshuo, a small town with many stalls selling traditional Chinese arts and crafts before returning by coach to Guilin. (B,L)

Day 8 Guilin/Guangzhou/Hong Kong
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Guangzhou, 'Old Canton', for a brief visit, then continue by jetfoil to Hong Kong. Accommodation, 3 nights: (B)

Day 9 Hong Kong
Today's morning tour includes a visit to Victoria Peak for a panoramic view of the city and Stanley Market, which is famous for bargain shopping. You then return along the coastal line via Repulse Bay and deep Water Bay to Aberdeen, the floating village for fishermen (sampan ride at Aberdeen will be at optional cost). A stop at a local jewelry factory near Aberdeen offers a chance to look at the fine art and craftsmanship that has made Hong Kong famous. (B)

Day 10 Hong Kong
You have a full day on your own to explore this dynamic city (B)

Day 11 Depart Hong Kong
Transfer to Hong Kong airport for your onward flight. (B)
