Day 2 Shanghai
Immerse yourself in the culture and sophistication of Shanghai on a full-day tour of the city's premier attractions. Explore the paths and pavilions of Yuyuan Gardens; stroll the waterfront Bund and this afternoon, visit the endearing Children's Palace. (B,L)

Day 3 Shanghai/Wuhan/Yangtze River Cruise
Fly to Wuhan and begin your Yangtze adventure. Settle into your comfortable, air-conditioned cabin. Then enjoy a festive dinner as we depart upriver while the city lights fade from view. Accommodation, 5 nights: (B,L,D)

Day 4 Yangtze River Cruise
We dock today amid the lush, enchanted landscapes of Yueyang and tour the scenic Jungshan Island and Yueuang Tower. Back on ship, enjoy engaging lectures and activities, and state-of-the-art facilities. (B,L,D)

Day 5 Yangtze River Cruise
This morning, you¹ll visit the colossal Three Gorges Dam construction site. Then sail through rushing Xiling Gorge and the towering cliffs of Wu Gorge. Dock for the night in the riverside market town of Wushan. (B,L,D)

Day 6 Yangtze River Cruise
A day of spectacular scenery features a motorboat voyage up the Daning River to the pristine Three Small Gorges or sail through the beautiful Shennong Stream. Then reboard ship to sail Qutang Gorge, a stunning narrow passage. (B,L,D)

Day 7 Yangtze River Cruise
Explore the mythical "ghost town" of Fengdu or the vibrant Sichuan markets of Wanxian on your shore excursion today. (B,L,D)

Day 8 Chongqing/Xian
Disembark this morning in Chongqing and fly to Xian. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Accommodation 2 nights: (B,L)

Day 9 Xian
Explore Xian's outstanding antiquities on today's tour, highlighted by the great archaeological find of our time, the lifelike ancient terracotta soldiers guarding the tomb of China's first emperor. Also trace the beginnings of Chinese civilization at the Provincial Museum, and tour the City Gate and Big Wild Goose Pagoda (B,L)

Day 10 Xian/Beijing

Day 11 Beijing
Walk in the steps of ancient emperors today as you tour the powerful Forbidden City, hidden from public view for over 500 years; and the masterpiece Temple of Heaven, the embodiment of grace and harmony. Enjoy glorious aerial views during lunch at the fine revolving restaurant, before continuing to the Summer Palace, now a favorite recreational spot for locals. The pomp and grandeur of imperial China lives on in these historic landmarks so integral to the nation's soul. (B,L)

Day 12 Beijing
A walk along the Great Wall of China ranks high on the wish list of many travelers and today's excursion will confirm it is one of the world's great travel experiences. Time is given to stroll along its ancient stone promenade - linger at the towers and broad promenades, and view some spectacular scenery. After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant you will be driven to the Ming Tombs along the Sacred Way. Returning to the city, you will also visit the Beijing Cloisonne Factory, famous for traditional enamelware. (B,L)

Day 13 Depart Beijing
Transfer to Beijing airport for your onward flight. (B)
